The new train maintenance and stabling facility at Waurn Ponds was completed in May 2023. The facility has enabled 31 extended services every week on the Geelong Line between South Geelong and Waurn Ponds.

The new facility has six tracks where VLocity trains can be stored overnight making the extra services possible on Victoria’s busiest regional train line.

The Waurn Ponds stabling facility features:

• 6 train stabling tracks
• connections to the main train line
• signalling and communication systems
• CCTV and lighting
• a building to support operations and amenities for staff
• staff car parking
• asphalt footpaths and sealed roadways.
