The Victorian Government has invested $3.36 million to develop an urgent care centre within the Phillip Island Health Hub at Cowes, providing local and visiting families with the peace of mind they deserve.
Completed in October 2019, the project has provided four treatment bays, which include a patient resuscitation bay along with a staff base and service spaces.
Conveniently located in the centre of Cowes, the Phillip Island Health Hub will continue to provide a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week service. The new urgent care facilities will give people an alternative to going to an emergency department for non-emergency care, reducing pressure on local hospitals and improving waiting times for patients.
The planned service expansion is the first part of the transformation of the Phillip Island Health Hub into a new flagship community hospital.
