Monash Children's Hospital - Early in Life Mental Health Services

The $14 million Monash Children's Hospital Early in Life Mental Health Services (ELMHS) project was completed in November 2017.

It aimed to support Monash Children’s Hospital to provide greater support for Victorian children who are experiencing mental health issues.

Children experiencing mental health issues, and their families, require specialised services and support. The ELMHS provides services to infants, children, adolescents, young people and their families and community agencies.

The newly integrated facility is now co-located in the children’s hospital. It has an eight-bed Children's Neurodevelopment Unit and a 20-bed Adolescent Inpatient Unit, providing greater capacity and a specialised, purpose-built environment for children and young people.

This investment is part of the Victorian Government's 10 Year Mental Health Plan. It is aimed at providing greater treatment options and support services for children and young people.
