The Victorian Government is investing $41.10 million to build a new acute and residential aged care facility in Cohuna.
Operated by Cohuna District Hospital, the new 24-bed facility will replace the Cohuna District Nursing Home and the current medical ward to deliver a new co-located facility.
Each resident in the new facility will have a single bedroom and private ensuite, promoting dignity, privacy and independence.
The new Cohuna aged care facility is part of the Victorian Government’s Regional and Rural Public Sector Residential Aged Care Services Revitalisation Strategy. The strategy aims to progressively replace dated public sector facilities with purpose-built facilities that better meet community expectations and enable contemporary models of aged care.
