We’re upgrading Boronia Station as part of a commitment from the Victorian Government, revitalising the station and surrounding areas to deliver a modern and accessible precinct for the community.
We will be exploring options for the future of the station including a new community space, decking, facade upgrades, improved lighting, CCTV, platform upgrades, bus shelters and furniture, to create a safer and more accessible station. Investigations will also consider improved access to the station with options for upgraded paths, handrails, and tactile surfaces.
These improvements to Boronia Station will create better connections to local shops, eateries and buses, including pedestrian access from the car park to the Dorset Road shops, making it easier for locals to get around central Boronia.
We have commenced site investigations in and around Boronia Station, which will assist us in planning for upcoming improvements to the station precinct and we’ll keep you updated as this project progresses.
The Boronia Station Upgrade will be delivered by 2026 and coincides with Level Crossing Removal Project work to make the Belgrave Line level crossing free between Ferntree Gully and the city.
