The Abbotts Road level crossing in Dandenong South was successfully removed in 2018.
This means no more waiting at the boom gates for more than 20,000 vehicles that pass through this busy industrial area each day.
Major works to duplicate the rail bridge at Abbotts Road as part of the Cranbourne Line Upgrade are now complete.
The second track will mean trains can run every 10 minutes on average in the morning peak for passengers travelling from Cranbourne, Lynbrook and Merinda Park stations.
