Parkwood Place change of access
Access changes to Parkwood Place
As part of the works to convert the Porter Street roundabout to traffic lights we needed to change the way you enter and exit Parkwood Place. You are no longer able to turn right into or out of Parkwood Place from Fitzsimons Lane. Parkwood Place has become left turn in and left turn out only. The existing traffic sensor has been retained.
These changes are made to improve safety in line with best practice road design standards. Below are examples of how these changes may impact you and how to adjust your journey
- when exiting Parkwood Place to travel south towards Doncaster you will need to turn left onto Fitzsimons Lane and merge right to take the next available U-turn
- if you are coming from the Eltham direction, to enter Parkwood Place you’ll need to continue driving along Fitzsimons Lane and make a U-turn at the roundabout, re-entering Fitzsimons Lane northbound. You’ll then be able to turn left into Parkwood Place
- once the roundabout has been converted to traffic lights, you’ll be able to perform a U-turn at the traffic lights.
