We’ve added extra lanes on approach to the Fitzsimons Lane and Porter Street intersection. We’ve built a centre median and installed safety barriers along Porter Street. This means there are some access changes to Hawtin Street and Templestowe Reserve.

Access to Hawtin Street and Templestowe Reserve is now left in, left out only. The change is necessary to reduce the risk of side impact collisions and T-bone crashes.

Removing right turns makes it safer for all road users by avoiding cars crossing multiple lanes of traffic and improves traffic flow by reducing queuing.

To enter Hawtin Street or Templestowe Reserve when travelling from Fitzsimons Lane/Williamsons Road:

• continue past Hawtin Street
• U-turn at the new dedicated U-turn bay (past the Templestowe Reserve entry)
• turn left into Hawtin Street/Templestowe Reserve.

To travel from Hawtin Street/Templestowe Reserve towards Warrandyte:

• turn left into Porter Street
• U-turn at Fitzsimons Lane.

This change is required to improve safety and traffic flow.
