The existing noise walls at Junction Road Reserve need to be removed and replaced to make space for an upgraded entry ramp at Springvale Road.
The new walls will use colours drawn from the surrounding landscape including rock and stone and be made of recycled plastic moulded into patterns that complement the existing concrete noise walls in the area. Recycled plastic has excellent sound absorption qualities and makes the project more sustainable. It also means new noise walls are lighter, so they can be installed more easily, with less heavy machinery and less disruption.
Noise walls at Junction Road Reserve are expected to be around 7 to 10 metres tall, with new trees and plants for screening.
