New noise walls are needed at Eram Park to make space for the new freeway exit ramp.
The new walls will use colours drawn from the surrounding landscape including rock and stone and be made of recycled plastic moulded into patterns that complement the existing concrete noise walls in the area. Recycled plastic has excellent sound absorption qualities and makes the project more sustainable. It also means new noise walls are lighter, so they can be installed more easily, with less heavy machinery and less disruption.
Noise walls in this area of Eram Park are expected to be around 6 metres tall, with new trees and plants for screening.
