The existing noise walls at Eram Park will need to be removed and replaced to make space for new entry and exit ramps. The new noise walls will also fill an existing gap.
The walls will use colours drawn from the surrounding landscape including rock and stone and be made of recycled plastic moulded into patterns that complement the existing concrete noise walls in the local area. Recycled plastic has excellent sound absorption qualities and makes the project more sustainable. It also means new noise walls are lighter, so they can be installed more easily, with less heavy machinery and less disruption.
Noise walls at Eram Park are expected to be around 10m tall, with new trees and plants for screening.
